About Justin Caruso

Justin feels the body to be a reflection of life: an ecstatic temple, a work of art, and a vehicle for connection. Just before the financial crisis Justin made a timely exit from Wall Street to return to yoga, a practice he began over 18 years ago. A New York native, Justin has spent the past 10 years traveling extensively through South America, Asia and the US, teaching and studying yoga, AcroYoga and bodywork with many of the world's master teachers. His studies in bodywork include Thai massage, Osteo-Thai, Craniosacral, Che Nei Tsang (abdominal massage), Wuo Tai, Swedish massage, Watsu, WaterDance and Dolphin Improvisation. His touch is deep, comforting and highly intuitive.

AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage, and the dynamic power of Acrobatics. These three ancient lineages form this practice that cultivates trust, connection and playfulness. There are 7 main elements that make up the practice: circle ceremony, asana, partner flow, Thai massage, therapeutic flying, inversions & spotting, and partner acrobatics. Our highest aim is to bring individuals into a state of union with themselves, with each other, and with the divine. From this place of mutual support the true self can be realized, celebrated and shared for the benefit of all.

Solar Immersion Retreats

The Solar Immersion empowers students to realize their infinite potential through the powerful embodiment of acrobatic partnership. Linear progressions and an emphasis on the art of spotting make learning advanced acrobatics safe, accessible, and fun. Confidence and coordination are developed in strength training and inversions, which pave the way for ease and grace in partner acrobatics. After refining foundations, we will train more precise acrobatic work, such as L basing, handstand training, Hand to Hand, washing machines, acrobatic sequences and standing acrobatics.

Get ready to push past your own personal limits in a fun and safe environment!

Lunar Immersion Retreats

This immersion teaches valuable tools for yoga teachers, massage therapists and physical therapists who want to develop their capacity to heal using their hands, and fulfills one of the prerequisites for the AcroYoga Teacher Training. This event also qualifies for 30 contact hours for Continuing Education for the Yoga Alliance. No previous experience or partner necessary. This training is for everybody; you do not have to be a yogi or have practiced acro.

Elemental Retreats

Come and immerse yourself in the wonderful world of AcroYoga! We will take you to explore your body and mind in a harmonious and fun way. From the peace and relaxation offered by Thai massage and therapeutic flights, to the fun and dynamism cultivated by yoga practices and acrobatic flights. This immersion offers both AcroYoga types: Lunar and Solar. Explore the possibility of giving and receiving a therapeutic flight, accompanied by Thai massage, and learn to build dynamic flights, inversions and handstands safely as a couple.

In this immersion, you can also learn invaluable tools for yoga teachers, masseurs and physiotherapists who want to develop their ability to teach inversions, couple activities, or heal with their hands.

Teacher Training Retreats

Join us for 15-days of learning, embodiment, community and practice on how to teach the AYI curriculum in a safe and fun way. 10 hours a day of instruction, Teacher's certification by AYI (if you complete both modules and the festival), AYI Teacher Training manual, AYI teacher T-shirt and more. You will gain tools for communicating clearly, while creating honest and compassionate co-teaching relationships, which is the heart of the AcroYoga practice. You will walk away with teaching tools, an understanding of who you are as a teacher, and how to create community everywhere you go.
